Assessing value

Key points for high purchase appraisal

Signed or unsigned

In the case of a signed helmet, the helmet is engraved on the inside of the helmet by the armor maker who made it. Helmets are made by armor makers of the Myochin, Saotome, and Haruta schools, and the more famous the armor maker, the more highly regarded they are.

Is there a time?

Those made before the Edo period are called "honka" because of their age. They are highly valued and can be purchased at a high price.
There are many modern copies of armor, and these are less valued.

Parts shortage

Armor varies depending on the style, but the basics are helmet, face mask, torso, gauntlets, sleeves, shin guards, and sweeping guards. If no parts are missing and everything is complete, it is highly rated.

Saved state

As armor ages, the condition of the strings, lacquer, and fabric deteriorates. The better the condition and the less damage, the higher the rating.
